Liz : Is that today’s paper?

ليز: هل هذه جريدة اليوم؟

Asha : Yes it is. I like to get the paper with my morning coffee.

آشا: نعم انها كذلك. احب ان اقرأ الجريدة مع تناول قهوة الصباح

Liz : So do I, but I haven’t had the chance to get my paper yet.

ليز: وكذلك انا، ولكني لم اجد الفرصة لأحصل على جريدتي بعد.

Asha : Do you want me to tell you some of the headlines?

آشا: هل تريدين ان اقرأ لك بعض العناوين؟

Liz : Sure.

ليز: بالتأكيد

Asha : On the front page there is news about the upcoming elections.

آشا: في الصفحة الأولى هناك اخبار عن الانتخابات القادمة.

Liz : Are those new poll results?

ليز: هل هذه استطلاعات رأي جديدة؟

Asha : It says a few candidates are pulling ahead after last night’s debate.

آشا: يقال ان هناك عدة مرشحين تقدموا بعد مناطرة ليلة امس

Liz : Is there any mention of the drug bust in the news last night?

ليز: هل هناك اي ذكر عن مداهمة ومصادرة المخدرات التي كانت في الاخبار ليلة امس؟

Asha : There is some information about it here on page 2.

آشا: هناك بعض المعلومات عنها هنا في الصفحة رقم 2.

Liz : Apparently they recovered drugs with a street value of 1.5 million.

ليز: يبدو انهم صادروا مخدرات بقيمة سوقية تصل إلى مليون ونصف

Asha : There have been a lot of similar stories in the news recently.

آشا: هناك الكثير من القصص المماثلة في الاخبار حاليا

Liz : The police have been successful on their raids lately.

ليز: الشرطة كانت ناجحة في مداهمتهم مؤخرا.

Asha : People have been talking about the positive and negative implications.

آشا: الناس كانت تتحدث عن التوابع الإيجابية والسلبية لهذا.

Liz : Getting guns and drugs off the streets can only be positive.

ليز: التخلص من السلاح والمخدرات من الشارع لا يمكن الا ان يكون ايجابيا

Asha : What you haven’t considered is that the dealers become agitated.

آشا: ما لم تعتبريه هو ان موزعوا المخدرات اصبحوا محتدين

Liz : I guess they would still want to make money.

ليز: اعتقد انهم مازالوا يريدون جمع المال.

Asha : If they don’t make it in their usual manner they may turn to other crimes.

آشا: ان لم يقوموا بطريقتهم المعتادة قد يتحولوا للقيام بجرائم اخرى

Liz : There has been an increase in robberies.

ليز: هناك تزايد في عدد السرقات

Asha : I hope the police will be able to stay on top things.

آشا: اتمنى ان تظل الشرطة مسيطرة على الامور
