At a Soup Kitchen

في مطعم خيري للفقراء

Liz : I am so happy that you came with me today Dave.

ليز: انا سعيدة جدا انك رافقتني اليوم ديف.

Dave : I can’t believe you always volunteer this time of year and I never came with you.

ديف: لااصدق انت دائما تتطوعين بهذا الوقت من العام ولم آتي معك قط.

Liz : You are here now and that’s the important thing.

ليز: انت هنا الان وهذا هو الشيء المهم

Dave : So who operates this soup kitchen anyway?

ديف: اذن من يدير المطعم الخيري على اية حال؟

Liz : A friend of my mom’s started it when I was fifteen and it has been going since then.

ليز: صديقة لوالدتي بدأته عندما كنت في الخامسة عشر من عمري وقد كان منذ ذلك الحين.

Dave : That’s a long time, so your mom volunteers her also.

ديف: هذا وقت طويل، اذن والدتك تتطوع هنا ايضا.

Liz : Yes she does, on a regular basis and I also did when I was in high school.

ليز: نعم، انها تفعل، بصفة مستمرة وانا ايضا كنت افعل حين كنت بالثانوية

Dave : how many people do you feed daily?

ديف: كم من الناس تطعمون يوميا؟

Liz : About 200 or so, but at Christmas time we always have an increase in people.

ليز: حوالي 200 او اكثر، ولكن في وقت الاعياد (Christmas) دائما ما يزيد عدد الناس

Dave : I never realized there were so many homeless people.

ديف: لم ادرك ابدا ان هناك الكثير من الأناس المشردين.

Liz : It is not only the homeless; we also feed the poor and unemployed.

ليز: ليس فقط المشرد، نحن ايضا نطعم الفقير والعاطل.

Dave : How do you manage to feed all these people?

ديف: كيف تتدبروا من اطعام كل هؤلاء الاشخاص؟

Liz : We do a lot of food drives and set up barrels at warehouse shopping establishments and supermarkets.

ليز: نقوم بالكثير من حملات جمع الطعام وثبتنا حاويات اما مراكز تسوق المستودعات والسوبر ماركت.

Dave : I can’t believe I never got involved before, I’m feeling a little guilty.

ديف: لاأصدق اني لم اشترك في هذا من قبل، انا اشعر ببعض الذنب.

Liz : Better late than never. I will take you by the warehouse we store our food later.

ليز: ان تبدأ متأخرا افضل من ان لاتبدأ ابدا. سأرافقك إلى المخزن حيث نقوم بتخزين الطعام فيما بعد.

Dave : You have that much food in storage?

ديف: لديك الكثير من الطعام المخزن؟

Liz : Yes, we also give out hampers for Christmas and give gifts to the kids.

ليز: نعم، نحن ايضا نوزع سلال الطعام ونعطي الاطفال هادايا.

Dave : Maybe I can play Santa, what do you think?

ديف: ربما يمكنني ان اقوم بدور سانتا كلوز (بابا نويل)، ماذا تظنين؟

Liz : I think that would be a great idea. You can also help preparing some Christmas baked good since you are good at baking.

ليز: اعتقد انها ستكون فكرة رائعة. يمكنك ايضا المساعدة في خبز منتجات الكريسماس بما انك بارع في الخبيز.

Dave : I will be happy to do that. I want to become more involved in the soup kitchen.

ديف: سأكون سعيد بالقيام بذلك. اريد ان اشارك اكثر في المطعم الخيري

Liz : I will introduce you to the founder and we can go from there. She will be delighted.

ليز: سأعرفك على موسسة هذا المكان ويمكننا البدء من هناك. ستكون سعيدة جدا.
