Elections are a constitutional procedure for selecting an individual or a group of individuals to fill a certain position. The idea of elections is one of the old ideas, which contribute to the resolution of disputes and conflicts on opinion. The ancient Romans knew the idea of elections in their choice of leaders, prominent personalities to take up positions and tasks in the state.

Individual elections are one of the most common types of election systems in the world. They are based on taking the opinion of every citizen in the country by encouraging them to participate in the elections. Every citizen has the right to vote once in the existing elections. Parliamentary elections are a group of citizens run for the position of deputy in the House of Representatives. Each of them is nominated for a region in the country in which they are located. Each district is called a constituency , and each constituency contains a group of seats in the House of Representatives, and citizens choose the right candidate, who will contribute to the advancement of his constituency .

Elections characteristics:
- Elections are general: means that every citizen has the right to vote and be elected.
- Elections are equal: this means that each voter has one vote.
- Elections are periodic: this means that the elections are repeated after a certain period of time and this period is stipulated in the law.
- Elections are secret: there are means to ensure the secrecy of the elections so that there is no possibility of exerting improper pressure on the voter and persuading him to vote for a particular candidate.
- Elections are fair and honest: they are meant to be conducted according to agreed rules and state laws.
