Sudan is one of the countries located in Africa on the north-east of the continent, bordered to the east by Eritrea and Ethiopia, to the north by the Republic of Libya and the Republic of Egypt, to the west by Central Africa and Chad, and to the south by the southern Sudanese state. The Nile passes through the Republic of Sudan divided by two halves east and west and the Nile basin valley lies in the middle.

Sudan is located on the African continent and covers an area of about 1,865,813 km2. It is the third largest African country after the Republic of Algeria and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and the third Arab countries after Algeria and Saudi Arabia in terms of area also, although it was the largest Arab country before the secession of the South in 2011.

Sudan gained its independence from both Britain and Egypt in 1956, specifically on the first of January. Since independence, the civil war broke out until 2005, with the exception of some periods of slight calmness and peace that occurred as a result of some deep conflicts between the central government on the northern side of the Sudan, and some rebel movements in the south.
The results of this war reached a comprehensive peace agreement between the Sudanese government and the Sudan People's Liberation Movement (SPLM), and the southern side of Sudan gained independence in 2011 as an independent state.

Sudan is famous for its wealth of diverse natural resources, due to its possession of many large areas, in addition to having a lot of green areas.
Sudan is a tourist destination for large numbers of tourists both from the Western World and the Arab world because of its extensive forests, deserts and lakes, as well as many temples and monuments. There are approximately two hundreds twenty-two pyramids in Sudan more pyramids than the Egyptian pyramids, located in the northern state.
Marra mountain is one of the most tourist attractions in the Darfur region,
it is characterized by its diversity of plants and wildlife. There are two lakes, and there is a natural reserve with many birds.
