The story goes back to a very ancient Greek myth, which tells that one of the ancient Greek kings, he and his wife were late in having children for a number of years, and after a long time they had a baby boy, and as usual for kings during that period, the king carried his son and took him to the temple, in order to know his future, One of the astrologers told him that this boy would be evil for him, and he must get rid of him as soon as possible.

The king did not tell a lie, and neither compassion nor mercy took him to his son, and indeed he went to one of his shepherds, and asked him to throw the infant off the mountain until he eliminated him. Indeed, the shepherd took him and took him to the top of the mountain, but he could not throw the little one and eliminate him, so he went He sent him to another man who worked as herding with him, and he told him to kill this child.

That shepherd took the child, and directed him to the king who is responsible for his service, and he knew that this king and his wife did not have children, so he told them the story of this child, so they loved this child so much and made him their son, and they called him Oedipus. Until he became a strong, handsome, strong young man, and when he was walking in one of the places he met a drunk man, and told him that he was a bastard.

The parents vehemently denied this news, and told him that the man was drunk and could not believe him. They took control of Oedipus and went to the temple in order to meet the astrologer and know his future, so I told him that he would kill his father and marry his mother, so Oedipus was terrified of that idea and fear dominated him. And he left his house so that his parents would not be harmed by him, and while he was walking on his way he reached a crossroads, and while he was passing from this place he was met by a man sitting on a carriage, who was his real father. Both of them blocked the other's path, and each refused to let the other pass by. This led to a fight between them, and the fighting ended with the death of the father at the hands of his son Oedipus, and he had no knowledge that that man was his true father.

Oedipus continued on his way towards the city that was ruled by his true father, and on his way he was met by the Sphinx, who was offering travelers mysteries. If the traveler answered it, he would survive. Meanwhile, turmoil prevailed in the city, due to the non-return of the king; Oedipus had killed him a little while ago without knowing that by that he had killed his father, and the wise men of the city agreed that the first person who survived the Sphinx would set up a ruler, and thus he would become their king.

Indeed, Oedipus entered that city and was made king, then he married his real mother without knowing that this young man was her son, and after that the vandalism spread in the city, and the wise men said that this tragedy would not disappear except with the death of the one who killed the king, so Oedipus vowed to search for this. The murderer, and after a long search Oedipus resorted to one of the priests to ask him who killed the king, but the priest did not want to tell him, and when Oedipus insisted on knowing the killer, and a quarrel occurred between them in words, the priest told him that he was the one who killed the king, and in the meantime an envoy came from the other kingdom informing him that his father Has died.

So Oedipus rejoiced that the news of the fortune-teller was wrong, and that he did not kill his father, as he died alone without being killed, so the envoy told him his story with the shepherd, and here his mother learned that she is now married to her son and committed suicide. He left the city and wandered in the mountains, and the story of Oedipus ended.
